GORDON LEVERTON's artwork doesn’t just capture what a city looks like—it captures how it feels. Built on close observation, abstraction, and attention to what’s often overlooked, Leverton transforms rooftops, alleyways, and side streets into bold, graphic compositions that carry his unmistakable voice.

With no formal art training, he turned directly to the city around him for inspiration. His practice proves what’s possible when you stay curious, keep working, and trust that your perspective matters.

In recognition of his work, Leverton received the 2024 City of Hamilton Creator Arts Award and The Hamilton Municipal Heritage Committee Art of Heritage Award for his role in educating the public on Hamilton’s heritage.

2025 marked an exciting milestone for Gordon as he completed his first international art residency in Guadalajara, Mexico and held his first international exhibit in Mexico City of his sold-out collection shadow. text. colour.

In 2026, Leverton is planning a joint art exhibit with with Mexico City artist Harumi Tanimoto. Together, they will debut their collaborative exhibition Día a Día I Day to Day at Zona MACO—Latin America’s largest and most prestigious art fair—at #Hashtag Gallery (CDMX)  from Feb 12 to March 1, 2026 and then, Leverton will embark on a 11 week residency in  Oaxaca, Mexico.
